Recently, Top Fine New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Inter-China Chemical, has been granted an invention patent by the China National Intellectual Property Administration for “A Titanium Solution Hydrolysis Method and Metatitanic Acid Particles and Titanium Dioxide.” This marks another significant technological breakthrough in the core production process of titanium dioxide.
The invention discloses a titanium solution hydrolysis method and metatitanic acid particles. The method includes the following steps:
-
S1: Adding orthotitanic acid crystal nuclei into titanium solution B, followed by stirring, heating for hydrolysis, and holding the temperature.
-
S2: When the hydrolysis rate of titanium solution B reaches 70–90%, continue heating to boiling, hold the temperature, and obtain metatitanic acid particles.
In this process, titanium solution B has a mass concentration of 22–28% and stability factor K of less than 500 ml, while the final stability of the orthotitanic acid nuclei is 110 ml. This invention solves the problem of poor stability in preparing orthotitanic acid crystal nuclei from unstable titanium solutions. By reacting unstable titanium solutions with sodium aluminate, orthotitanic acid nuclei with good activity and stability are prepared. When added into unstable titanium solutions, these nuclei produce metatitanic acid particles with regular crystallinity, uniform particle size, and minimal impurity content. The resulting titanium dioxide exhibits excellent whiteness, tinting strength, and other performance advantages.

Top Fine New Materials has long been dedicated to the R&D and innovation of upstream materials for titanium dioxide. The granting of this patent not only demonstrates the company’s technical expertise in process optimization but also strengthens its core competitiveness in the high-end titanium dioxide industry chain through the strategic layout of independent intellectual property. This recognition affirms its strong R&D capabilities and provides new directions for technological advancement in the industry. Looking ahead, Inter-China Chemical will continue to deepen innovation in the titanium dioxide value chain, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, and contribute to the development of high-end domestic new materials.
